## 1. Executive summary & the ask

A serious outdoor cook today buys a fire, then buys the kitchen around it separately — counters, a sink, storage, shelter — as a masonry build or a sprawl of carts. And they own only *one* fire: open-ember asado, or low-and-slow smoke, rarely both, and never with room for two experts to work side by side. omegaClass collapses a full outdoor fire station into a single object that closes into a clean, weatherproof stainless cabinet and opens into a **zoned, two-master kitchen**.

**omegaClass is one wide stainless cabinet whose top lifts into two roofs.** Closed, it is a long, sealed, lockable monolith on leveling feet — **240 cm (W) × 68 cm (D) × 205 cm (H)**, ~**300 kg** — that reads as a considered piece of outdoor-kitchen furniture and shrugs off weather. Its top is **two independent lift-up roof lids on gas struts** (front edges rise to ~**230 cm**), each sheltering half the station. Underneath, at a ~**92 cm** counter height, a complete fire station is revealed and worked head-on across three zones, left to right:

- **The prep + sink zone** (shared): a stainless/butcher-block **counter**, a **sink** with a gooseneck faucet, a cutting board, and real **lower cabinets and drawers** — the prep, plate, and wrap surface for both cooks.

## 2. Problem & market

### 2.1 The problem

Serious outdoor cooks are forced into two separate compromises — one on the fire, one on the kitchen around it — and the two great live-fire disciplines never share a bench:

- **Live-fire asado, exposed.** Open parrillas and braseros deliver the best flavor and theater, but you cook in the weather, bleed radiant heat to the sky, and — with no landing counter — juggle plates and tools in mid-air.
- **Low-and-slow smoke, single-purpose.** A dedicated vertical or offset smoker is superb for slow barbecue but does not sear over live coals, and its own prep and wrap surface is always a separate table.
- **The two masters can't share a station.** An asador wants a brasero, a rake, a crank grate, and a plating ledge. A pitmaster wants sealed insulated racks, a fire he can tend without opening the chamber, and a wrap counter. Nothing on the market gives **both, at once, with room to work.**
- **No shelter.** Sun and rain drive the cook indoors; nothing in the category puts an integrated roof and task light over the work zone.
- **No kitchen — and it never packs away.** Whichever fire you buy, the counters, sink, prep space, and storage are a separate purchase, and a built-in outdoor kitchen is permanent, weather-exposed, and cannot be closed, locked, or protected in the off-season.

Nobody sells **one cabinet** that is a brasero-fed live-fire parrilla *and* a vertical rack smoker *and* a sheltered work station with a sink, counter, and real storage — zoned so two experts work at once — that then **seals shut into a single weatherproof, lockable box.**

### 2.2 The customer

The buyer is an affluent enthusiast, design-led homeowner, or hospitality operator for whom cooking with fire is identity, not utility, and who is already spending in this range on grills, smokers, or a built-in outdoor kitchen. They value: material permanence (marine stainless, buy-it-for-life), craft and theater, genuine cooking ergonomics (a comfortable work height, a real counter and sink, easy fuel handling, room for two cooks), the ability to **close and protect the whole station** between uses and over winter, and an object that reads as a clean, considered monolith when idle on the terrace. The persona test is explicit: a master asador and a master pitmaster should each look at their zone and recognize how they actually cook.

Outdoor living has become permanent household infrastructure rather than a seasonal indulgence; live-fire asado and wood-smoke barbecue both have strong, distinct cultural momentum; the premium outdoor-kitchen category is established and growing; and buyers increasingly reject disposable gear in favor of lifetime materials. A single stainless cabinet that runs a brasero-fed parrilla *and* a vertical smoker at once, brings its own sink, counter, storage, and two roofs — and then **locks up weatherproof** — sits precisely at that intersection, and offers something no built-in ever can: the whole station closes.

## 3. Product definition

### 3.1 The cabinet (closed)

- **Body:** a wide marine-grade 304/316 stainless cabinet — **240 cm (W) × 68 cm (D) × 205 cm (H)** — on **adjustable leveling feet** (optionally concealed casters). Polished + brushed finish; two roof lids and the smoker's dual doors seal against perimeter gaskets, so closed it is a **weatherproof, lockable monolith**.
- **Structure:** a wide stainless carcass with internal **zone dividers** and a stainless **back wall**, organized into three left-to-right bays (prep+sink · parrilla+brasero · vertical smoker) beneath a two-lid top. Closed, the silhouette is a clean, long planted stainless box — a considered object, not a row of carts.
- **The top:** two large **lift-up roof lids** (corrugated stainless undersides), each **hinged at the top-back edge** with a handle and visible gas struts. Closed, they cover and seal the whole top. Independent lids are the product's signature move.

### 3.2 Zone A — prep + sink (LEFT, ~60 cm, shared)

A stainless-with-butcher-block-accent **counter** at ~92 cm, a stainless **sink** with a gooseneck **faucet**, a **cutting board**, landing space, and **lower cabinets and drawers** below with tool hooks. This is the shared prep/plate/wrap surface — the landing counter an asador needs beside the fire and the wrap station a pitmaster needs beside the smoker, made one.

### 3.3 Zone B — brasero + crank parrilla (CENTER, ~90 cm — the asador)

The open-fire zone, laid out the way an asador actually works:

- **Dedicated brasero** (~35 cm, left of the grate): a firebox that burns wood/charcoal down to glowing embers, with a **rake ledge/slot** to pull coals sideways under the grate. The ember maker is separate from the cooking surface — the real Argentine method.
- **Wide V-channel parrilla** (~55 cm) on a **crank lift** (~15 cm range) over the ember bed. The cook rides the crank for heat, works head-on, and rests/plates on the adjoining prep counter. V-channel ribs drain rendered fat to a channel → a removable **grease cup**.

### 3.4 Zone C — vertical rack smoker (RIGHT, ~90 cm — the pitmaster)

The smoke zone, laid out the way a pitmaster actually works — a vertical/cabinet smoker, not an offset:

- **Insulated double-wall chamber** with **dual front cabinet doors** (each ~44 cm, hinged at the **outer** edges, swinging open to reveal the racks; glass windows optional) and **three stacked racks** inside.
- **Firebox BELOW** the chamber: a fire/ember box at the base with its own **fire-access door**, so **smoke and heat rise up through the racks** — food low near the fire runs hotter, food high runs cooler, a natural rack gradient. A low **intake damper** meters air.
- **Top flue** with a stack damper and cap carries smoke clear of the roof; with the doors sealed and the fire lit, smoke is visible curling from the stack.
- The pitmaster loads racks, seals the doors, tends the fire below **without opening the chamber**, and wraps on the shared counter.

### 3.5 Overhead — two independent lift-up roof lids

- **Lid L** shelters the prep + parrilla half; **Lid R** shelters the smoker half. Each is a stainless panel (corrugated underside), **hinged at the top-back**, lifting **up and forward ~100° on visible gas struts** into a high overhead roof whose front edge rises to ~**230 cm**, cantilevering forward over the cook. Because they hinge at the **top-back** and lift up and away, they clear the front entirely — head-on access at the counter, never a low forward gate. Each carries an underside **task light** that comes on as its lid completes travel. Raise only the zone you're using; closed, both lids seal the top.

### 3.6 The four postures

Because roof, doors, and fire move independently, the controls yield four named, sellable postures (exact configurator values):

The product's whole thesis is that these are **postures of one cabinet**, reachable in seconds and workable by two cooks at once — not a fire plus a smoker plus a table plus a sink plus a gazebo bought and installed separately.

## 4. Engineering & mechanism

Everything below is design intent at concept stage; load and efficiency figures are **reasoned engineering estimates** to be confirmed by prototype testing and calorimetry.

### 4.1 The two lift-up roof lids — hinges, gas-strut lift, locks & wind

The two roof lids are the primary moving elements and the defining engineering challenge: two large panels must each lift overhead easily, lock hard, seal weatherproof when down, and survive wind when up. The two lid panels, their hinges, handles, and struts total ~50 kg (§4.9).

- **Hinges:** each lid pivots on a **heavy stainless top-back hinge line** carried by the cabinet's top rail and its zone dividers, rotating up and forward ~100° from a flat sealing top to an overhead, forward-angled roof. Two separate hinge lines let the lids raise independently.
- **Gas-strut lift:** a **pair of visible gas struts per lid** counterbalances each panel across its full arc, so a single operator raises either one-handed and it holds at any angle. Struts are sized to each panel's center of mass and ~100° travel; **positive mechanical detents/locks** take the load at the fully-raised position rather than trusting the struts alone.
- **Sealing (down):** closed, each lid compresses a **perimeter high-temperature/weather gasket** against a stepped stainless frame; latches (with locks) pull them home, closing the box weatherproof.
- **Wind & anti-tip with lids raised:** two ~130 × 110 cm overhead panels are sails, so this is a designed load case, not an afterthought. Panels are vented/edge-detailed to shed uplift; hinge lines, struts, and their anchorage into the top rail and dividers are sized for a **stated design-gust overturning moment**, verified by test. Critically, the ~300 kg cabinet mass sits **low** in the wide carcass while the lids are light panels high up, so raised lids add height without moving the center of gravity much beyond the deep, planted 240 × 68 cm footprint. Operating guidance is to **lower the lids in high wind** — the same rule any awning follows. Because the lids are independent, only the zone in use need be exposed.
- **Reasoning:** two top-hinged, strut-assisted, mechanically-locked panels are a well-understood, serviceable way to get both a weatherproof top and per-zone overhead shelter; the engineering bar is strut sizing, lock repeatability, gasket compression, and the wind-load case — all validated by cycle and load testing.

### 4.2 The vertical smoker — dual cabinet doors & seals

The smoker chamber turns from a sealed insulated box into an open, loadable rack cabinet via its dual doors.

- **Doors closed:** each of the two doors seals against a gasketed lip, closing a draft-controlled insulated chamber — the sealed smoker. Optional **glass windows** (high-temperature borosilicate/ceramic panes, in-frame replaceable) show the racks without breaking the seal.
- **Doors open:** hinged at the **outer** edges, both doors swing out to the sides, clearing the full face so the pitmaster loads and pulls all three racks head-on.
- In the configurator the doors open on the **doors** axis, independent of **fire**, and smoke from the flue shows only when the fire is lit *and* the doors are closed (`∝ f × (1 − d)`) — matching real use: you don't smoke with the doors hanging open.
- **Reasoning:** two gasketed outer-hinged doors give wide, unobstructed rack access while still sealing a genuine insulated smoke chamber — a well-trodden cabinet-smoker arrangement, tuned here to the chamber volume.

### 4.3 Vertical-smoker draft & smoke physics (fire below, rising through the racks)

The firebox-below, the racks, and the top flue form a **vertical updraft** smoke path — the arrangement prized in cabinet/vertical smokers for a natural rack gradient.

- **The path:** wood or charcoal burns in the **firebox below** the chamber; hot, smoke-laden gas **rises up through the three racks** and out the **top flue**. Food nearest the fire runs hottest, food up top coolest — a usable temperature gradient across the racks. A baffle/heat-shield spreads heat so the lowest rack is convected, not scorched.
- **Draft (stack effect):** flow is driven by the **stack effect** — hot, low-density gas rising the height of the chamber and flue creates a pressure difference that pulls fresh air in through the low intake damper and pushes smoke out the top:

  where **H** is the effective stack height (firebox → flue exit) and the density difference grows with gas temperature. The **intake damper** (air in, low) and the **flue/stack damper** (gas out, top) together meter burn rate and therefore temperature — the same restrict-air-restrict-fire principle that governs any draft-controlled cooker. A vertical smoker's tall H gives strong, steady natural draft.
- **Reasoning:** a firebox below feeding an insulated chamber and exhausting through a top flue is a well-understood way to get even, smoky, indirect heat and a natural rack gradient; the design bar is baffle geometry and damper sizing tuned to this specific chamber, verified by instrumented testing.

### 4.4 The brasero & crank parrilla

The asador's open fire, engineered around the real method.

- **Brasero:** a separate firebox that burns wood/charcoal down to embers, with a raised grate and a **rake ledge/slot** at grate level so glowing coals are pulled sideways under the parrilla on demand — ember making decoupled from cooking, so the cook always has a fresh coal supply.
- **Crank parrilla:** a heavy **V-channel grate** rides on a screw/rack mechanism driven by a front **crank wheel**, raising/lowering it ~15 cm over the ember bed — the searing-vs-gentle dial, stable under load. V-channel ribs drain rendered fat to the low point of each channel → a side collection channel → a removable **grease cup**, keeping fat off the coals (less flare, easy cleanup).

### 4.5 Insulated chamber & fuel-efficiency reasoning

The smoker chamber is a **double-wall envelope**: an inner stainless liner, an outer stainless shell, and a ceramic-fiber + trapped-air layer between them (ceramic fiber k ≈ 0.06 W/m·K — a good insulator), with the door gaskets closing the box.

**Why it saves fuel (reasoned, not asserted):** an uninsulated single-wall smoker loses heat continuously by conduction through the hot wall, then convection and radiation off its outer surface to ambient. To *hold* a temperature, the fire must replace those losses continuously — most of the fuel a thin-wall smoker burns at steady state. A low-conductivity double wall collapses the conductive path, so the outer skin runs far cooler and radiates/convects far less; the fire then only has to replace a fraction of the previous loss to hold the same internal temperature. In the sealed low-and-slow smoke mode, this means less fuel and far steadier temperatures in wind and cold, and a longer unattended burn between fire tends.

**Estimate:** we target a **~50–75% fuel reduction versus an equivalent uninsulated thin-wall smoker holding the same temperature**, consistent with the order of magnitude claimed for insulated cabinets generally. This is a **design target to be verified by prototype calorimetry**, not a measured result. The open-fire parrilla trades efficiency for flame and theater by design.

### 4.6 Materials

- **Marine stainless 304/316** throughout the visible cabinet, roof lids, smoker chamber, brasero, firebox, flue, sink, and counter frame (polished + brushed; lid undersides corrugated/slatted) for lifetime corrosion resistance; optional powder-coat.
- **Cast or heavy stainless V-grate** for thermal mass and durability; a stainless **baffle/heat-shield plate** in the smoker.
- **Warm hardwood** (oil-finished, food-safe) butcher-block accent on the counter and handles — the "kitchen" warmth against the steel.
- **High-temperature glass** for optional smoker-door windows; **cool-touch tubular handles**; ceramic-fiber insulation; gasket seals rated for the temperature range; **perimeter weather gaskets** for the two roof lids.
- **Roof mechanism:** two heavy stainless top-back hinges, two pairs of **gas struts**, and mechanical locks; stainless-framed lid panels with corrugated undersides and underside task lights.
- **Sink:** stainless bowl, gooseneck faucet, drain and simple supply plumbing.
- **Molten-accent controls** (Ω badge, intake/flue/firebox dampers, crank knob, task lights) for the premium tactile signature.

### 4.7 Stability & anti-tip

- A **deep, planted, wide stance** (240 cm × 68 cm) on adjustable **leveling feet**, with the ~300 kg mass concentrated **low** in the carcass, keeps the center of gravity low and well inside the footprint.
- The raised lids are light panels high up; because the heavy elements (carcass, insulated chamber, brasero, firebox, stored fuel) sit low, raising a lid adds height without meaningfully raising the CG. Hinges and struts tie into the top rail and dividers, transferring lid loads down into the base.
- **Design rule:** the cabinet must not tip under a specified side load with both lids fully raised and the lower cabinets/drawers loaded, nor under the stated lid wind-load case — explicit prototype tests, not assumptions. Leveling feet are set for a firm, level footprint before use.

### 4.8 Weatherproofing, locking & reliability

- All-stainless body, **gasket-sealed roof lids** and **dual smoker doors**, latches with **locks**, and a capped flue give genuine all-weather capability. Closed, the whole station — parrilla, brasero, smoker, sink, counter, storage — is sealed inside one weatherproof, lockable box; raised, the lids actively shelter the cook and prep zone.
- Sealed low-voltage electrics (two LED underside task lights + interior lights) rated for outdoor damp; no actuator required (the lids are gas-strut-assisted and hand-raised).
- **Cycle-life targets (design goals to be validated by test):** lid hinges/struts/locks, latches, dual smoker doors, grate crank, dampers, and leveling feet/casters ≥ 10,000 cycles; gaskets, grease cup, and glass panes are replaceable service items.

### 4.9 Weight budget (sums to 300 kg)

Concept-stage mass estimate per subsystem. **Total = 300 kg** by construction — a large unit because it is a whole zoned station: a wide carcass, two roof lids, a brasero-fed parrilla, a full vertical smoker with racks, a sink, and cabinetry.

## 5. Design & differentiation

**Objective:** be clear-eyed about what is genuinely original here, and build a moat out of **design, engineering integration, and brand quality** — not out of any single mechanism, all of which are individually well-trodden.

### 5.1 What is actually original

No competing object combines all five of these in one product:

1. **A whole two-master fire station that seals into one cabinet.** Closed, omegaClass is a weatherproof, lockable stainless monolith; open, it is a full zoned station — parrilla, brasero, vertical smoker, sink, counter, storage, shelter.
